Sandstone tile cleaning breathes new life into your stone floor. These images show just how characterful a sandstone floor can be. They offer an incredible mix of rustic charm and depth that many other stone tiles cannot rival.
It is important that if you have a stone floor in your kitchen that you are aware of how best to maintain the tiles. Due to the location of the floor, it will likely come into contact with more day-to-day challenges. This is in comparison to those in other rooms throughout your home. Your sandstone floor is more likely to come into contact with moisture, spillages, varying temperatures and even damage through dropped items.
Regularly cleaning and resealing your sandstone flooring will offer better protection against all these elements.
Sandstone Tile Cleaning – Our Process:
Our client was going to have a new kitchen installed. They wanted this lovely sandstone floor restored. The first image shows how it had been worn over the years and needed some help to bring it back to its best.
Fortunately, this client had the foresight to arrange for me to restore the floor after the old units were removed and before the new kitchen installed. This is perfect. It meant that I could clean the whole floor without having to worry about damaging a new kitchen. We aim to work with our clients in order to ensure the smooth running of every stone cleaning project.
I deep cleaned it using a powerful alkaline solution to break down greasy soils and grime. Once rinsed I cleaned again using an acid-based product to remove any grout and mortar haze. This process really brought out the colours and fossils within the stone.
This floor was thoroughly rinsed, dried, and sealed with an impregnating seal. This protects the floor but without changing the colour or texture of the stone.
