Wood Floor Sanding – Top Tips for Preparation

The process of preparing for wood floor sanding can be broken down into two parts. There are aspects of the process you may look to complete prior to our visit. Furthermore, there are elements of preparation that will be undertaken by us. What can you do to prepare?

Clearing the Room

It is a good idea to clear the room or space of any furniture or larger items. We can offer help with this when we arrive but often ask for our clients to do as much as they possible can prior to our arrival. This will speed up the process and again minimise any disruption. Access to the room should be clear. Some of this advice may sound like common sense, but it is always a good idea to discuss everything prior to work commencing.

Protect Your Valuables

While we offer a virtually dust free service, it is still important to consider any items left in the room. Protecting these will mean no damage is caused during the wood restoration process. Pictures and hanging items can be covered with sheeting, but it may well be worth removing them from the room if you are at all worried.

Another top tip is to take care when moving items around, or out of the room. Further damage can be caused to both the room and your items. All of which, should be avoided if at all possible. Take your time and you will not be left with a situation where you have created further damage or broken valuable items.
